UK - News of the World - Hacking Scandal - Damages Awarded

Re:  The Independent (UK) - Tuesday 22 July 2014 - here.

Independent reports that the following were awarded undisclosed damages, and (as I understand) legal costs, from News Group Newspapers (NGN), in relation to the News of the World phone hacking scandal:

  • Rhys Ifans;
  • Michael Barrymore; and
  • Clair Dobbs (publicist).

And Hacked Off wagged a finger about a 'criminal conspiracy'.

So those who broke the law have been dealt with by the law?

No need to clutch at those pearls then.

As an aside, I'm astounded that there were people dumb enough to do something illegal and then to leave a paper trail in documents that wound up being seized.
