He has not stepped foot back in the United States since leaking sensitive information that he gathered during his time doing contract work for the CIA and NSA. Trouble accessing the Bild article. There's a Frantz Klintsevich, who is a member Vladimir Putin's United Russia party, but it may not be the same guy.  Without seeing the Bild article, there's no way of telling who the source is. I'm inclined to believe Snowden's still working for CIA.
