In a damming article in The Sun last week, Rod Liddle criticised David Cameron and his lack of backbone when it comes to standing up to the parading Angela Merkel and her persistence in trying to persuade Turkey to become a full member of the EU. At a time when many nations around Europe want less EU dictatorship and a cut in immigration,Merkel seems to want even more.
The truth is, Merkel, the EU and David Cameron are about to give the right of entry to 70 million Turks – as well as £3 billion! Why? Because Merkel says so. Liddle says:
“…..70 million Turks! Why is it doing this Are they all mad? More like very, very, devious. Because the more people who come into the country, the more money the country generates. That keeps Chancellor George Osborne happy. But the amount of money we have per person – known as GDP per capita – reduces. So YOU have less, but the country, as a whole, has more, in the very short term. And of course, the richest people in the country benefit. Employers get to pay less in wages. And they get cheap nannies and au pairs and taxi cabs.”
So the public have less in their pockets – less money to buy food, less for beer and less to pay the rent. Many of those entering the job market can only find low paid work with a glut of foreign migrants forcing down wages. It just isn’t sensible to have an open-door, unlimited mass immigration policy when we have 1.75 million unemployed in this country already.

It is appalling statistics are being fiddled by Osborne to trick the public into believing they are being listened to. The EU will not allow David Cameron any leeway when it comes to migration in his so-called renegotiations. They will not even consider withholding benefits to migrants entering the UK for just a short period of time – let alone four years as he has asked.
The only way for the British government to satisfy the public’s needs when it comes to immigration is getting net migration down to the tens of thousands as promised, and not the hundreds. We must take back control of our own borders.Under no circumstances should Cameron even consider opening Britain up to 70 million more people.

There are already approximately 200,000 Kurds living in the United Kingdom.
The Kurds in the United Kingdom are concentrated in our large cities, where even at the present time, there is profound pressure on public services, especially health and education.
According to the Home Affairs Select Committee of the British House of Commons, should Turkey become a member of the European Union, up to 4.4-MILLION Turkish citizens of all ethnic groups would emigrate to Britain, where they would then have rights to benefits and the NHS.
Now, I do not blame the Kurds for wanting to leave. Ankara has a decade long policy of denying elementary linguistic and other cultural rights.
However, the solution is not mass immigration to the UK and other EU member states.
The solution is that Turkey start to treat its minorities with decency and respect, and we should make it crystal clear that Turkey, an Asian country, cannot join the EU.

The passive European working man is absolutely screwed and Europe is finished.
Also, Turkey rests mostly in Asia (variously described, but essentially in the Middle East) -- and the Turkic people are of Asian origin.
Note that Europe is not merely opening itself up to Turkey, a country of 70-million Asians. Europe, under the European Union arrangement, is (by default) opening its borders wide to the entire Middle East.
To see the consequences of that, just take a look at the latest invasion.
The Home Affairs Select Committee 2013 figures given for anticipated migration from Turkey is a gross underestimate, in my opinion.

The Times today carries an article on ISIS’ oil interests, Syria and Turkey. Nowhere does it inform its readers that the owner of the newspaper, Rupert Murdoch, has a vested interest in this subject through his role and shares in Genie Energy, an Israeli company granted oil rights in Syria by the Israeli government. Dick Cheney and Lord Rothschild are also shareholders.
No, they really are. This is not a conspiracy theory. It is a conspiracy.
That Israel should grant oil rights within Syria is of course a striking example of contempt for international law, but then that is the basis on which Israel normally operates. Of course Genie’s share value will be substantially boosted by the installation of a neo-con puppet regime in Damascus which can be bought to underwrite the oil concession granted by Israel.Contempt for international law has been the single most important defining characteristic of neo-conservatism, and the need to uphold international law the recurring theme of this blog. I never thought the UK government would make the withdrawal of its support for the concept of international law explicit, as Cameron has done by removing the obligation to comply with international law from the Ministerial Code. That is truly, truly disgraceful.
But to return to Murdoch’s oil interests in Syria, it seems to me a fundamental flaw that when Fox News, Sky News, the Times, the Sun and Murdoch’s numerous other media outlets bang the drum for Western military action in Syria, there is no requirement for the consumer of this propaganda to be told that the outlet is pushing a policy in line with the financial interests of its owner. Even for those actively seeking information, there is no register of the interests of media proprietors.

LONDON — Speaking from Ecuador’s embassy in London, Julian Assange revealed that the United Statesplanned to overthrow the Syrian government as far back as 2006, several years before the start of the current crisis. ... His latest revelations come in a Wednesday interview with RT in support of his new book, “The WikiLeaks Files,” published late last month.
The United States and its allies in the Middle East, including Turkey and Israel, have been frequently accused of contributing to the ongoing destabilization of Syria in the wake of the uprising and subsequent civil war which began in 2011. But according to cables from the WikiLeaks archive, discussed in the Syria chapter of Assange’s book, plans to deliberately destabilize the region go back at least five years further. “In that chapter is a cable from US Ambassador William Roebuck, who was stationed in Damascus, which apparently discusses a plan for the overthrow of the Assad government in Syria,” RT reported.

WikiLeaks cables reveal that these plans came from the Israeli government, and show that the U.S. government intended to work with Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and Egypt to encourage the breakdown of the Assad regime as a way of also weakening Iran and Hezbollah.
“[I]f Syria sufficiently destabilized, it might be in a position where it can keep the Golan Heights forever, or even advance that territory,” Assange said.
According to Assange, the cable illuminates how the current Syrian crisis reflects U.S. influence on the Middle East, particularly the ways it has used its allies to put pressure on the country. “Part of the problem in Syria is that you have a number of US allies surrounding it, principally Saudi and Qatar, that are funneling in weapons,” Assange noted, adding that it shows how the U.S. uses its over 100 army bases and network of embassies to further its imperialist interests. As the article re the WikiLeaks cable indicates, the plan to take down Syria began even earlier than indicated by the former French Foreign Minister: it was outlined in 2006 US cables.
Israel could be a driving force in for US foreign policy in the Middle Eastern region. As in, the article states:
"WikiLeaks cables reveal that these plans came from the Israeli government."
Think I might simplify things too much. There's a combination of things going on. It's not just a single driving factor.

Britain is on the verge of entering a conflict in Syria in which its political and military strategy is based on wishful thinking and poor information. British air strikes in Syria will be too few to make much difference to Isis, but are important because they signal Britain’s entry into what may be a long war.
In one crucial respect, David Cameron’sapproach is similar to that which saw Britain fight two small but unsuccessful wars in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2003, in both cases without an effective local partner on the ground. Similarly inSyria, Britain will be at the mercy of events which are being shaped by the numerous other players in the conflict, all of whom have their own highly contradictory agendas.
Much of the debate around the feasibility of the British strategy has focused on Mr Cameron’s statement that we do indeed have a partner, of whose existence few were previously aware. He said that there are 70,000 “Syrian opposition fighters on the ground who do not belong to extremist groups”. The impression given is that there is a “third force” in Syria which will provide a powerful ally for the US, France and Britain.
This would be very convenient but, unfortunately, its existence is very debatable. “The notion that there are 70,000 moderate fighters is an attempt to show that you can fight Isis and [President Bashar al] Assad at the same time,” says Professor Joshua Landis, the director of the Centre for Middle East Studies at the University of Oklahoma and an expert on Syrian politics. But he is dismissive of the idea that such a potential army exists, though he says there might be 70,000 Syrians with a gun who are fighting for their local clan, tribe, warlord or village. “The problem is that they hate the village down the road just as much they hate Isis and Assad,” he said.
The armed opposition to President Assad is dominated byIsis, the al-Qaeda affiliateJabhat al-Nusraand the ideologically similarAhrar al-Sham. Some of the smaller groups, once estimated by the CIA to number 1,500, might be labelled as moderate, but only operate under license from the extreme jihadists. Aymenn al-Tamimi, a fellow at the Middle East Forum and an authority on the Syrian armed opposition, says that these groups commonly exaggerate their numbers, are very fragmented and have failed to unite, despite years of war.
He recalls that one group he met during a recent visit to Latakia province in north-west Syria claimed to have 2,000 fighters, but probably numbered only 500.
He warns that they pretend to the outside world that they are more moderate than they really are, speaking of “the equality of all Syrians before the law” when they are outside Syria or communicating with people who have never been to the country, but express “hatred for Shia and Allawites” on all other occasions.
Mr Tamimi says that the smaller armed groups, which sometimes have good weapons supplied by the Americans, had acted as auxiliaries to Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham when they captured Idlib City in fierce fighting with the Syrian army in May.
Even if such groups are not extreme Islamists, they do not have the strength to refuse to cooperate. This will make any ceasefire very difficult to arrange because such moderate fighters as there are who might be willing to accept a truce, are intermingled withpowerful Nusra forces which will not do so.
Moreover, radical Islamic ideology has been gaining ground in all parts of the Syrian opposition. James Harkin, the author of Hunting Season about the kidnapping of foreigners in Syria and a frequent visitor to opposition-held areas, says that it is important to grasp that “none of these people [the armed opposition inside Syria] like us”.
They see the US, Britain and France as enemies.This includes the non-jihadists, whom the West hopes to enlist, who suspect they will be used as cannon fodder and then discarded.
The one group that has some claim to be non-sectarian, secular and a powerful fighting force is the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) who claim to number 50,000, but probably total half that. It has been the most effective anti-Isis ground force and, heavily supported by US air strikes, its territory now stretches across northern Syria between the Tigris and Euphrates.
It claims to be non-sectarian and that it does not persecute Sunni Arabs, but sectarian fear and hatred is today so deep in Syria – partly but not entirely because of the atrocities of Isis – that people flee the attack of every other sectarian or ethnic group different from themselves. The Sunni population in Raqqa, Isis’s Syrian capital, or in Mosul in Iraq, may dislike Isis, but they are even more terrified of the Kurds or the Shia militias.
Britain is entering a war against the self-declared “Islamic State”, probably the most dangerous and violent organisation in the world, but without a realistic policy to win that war. Mr Cameron stresses the limited nature of the engagement, but Britain will be fighting a state that is also a ferocious sect, does not negotiate and may well retaliate with some atrocity similar to Paris. This is not an argument for rejecting military action against Isis, but it is one for thinking very carefully what we are doing because the only exit strategy will be military victory.
It is not only in Syria that Britain lacks a powerful local partner. In Iraq, its ally will be the Iraqigovernment and army,neither of which has recovered from their defeats by Isis over the past two years. “Syria is a nightmare and Iraq is becoming a nightmare,” said the Iraqi political scientist and activist Ghassan al-Attiyah. If the present government of Haider al-Abadifalls it is likely to be replaced by one closer to the Iranian-backed Shia militias that are more numerous and better armed than the Iraqi army.
The US-led air campaign has already launched around 8,300 air strikes against Isis which have slowed up its advance, but without bringing it to its knees. Professor Landis says that the difficulty is that the three powers in Syria capable of winning the war are Isis, a Jabhat al-Nusra led alliance or Mr Assad but “the US doesn’t want any of these to win”. He cites three attempts by the US to create a moderate armed opposition which have humiliatingly failed and, on each occasion, extreme jihadists have captured quantities of modern American weapons.
The British Government has shared in a widespread but ill-founded belief over the past four years that the Assad government was about to collapse. But of the 22 million Syrian population, 4 million have fled abroad and are refugees, and about 12 million are in government-controlled areas. Though exhausted and after suffering heavy casualties, including 47,000 dead, the Syrian army is still the largest military force in the country.It now has the support of the Russian air force and is not going to lose the war, though it is not strong enough to win it.
This is the terrible conflict in which Britain is about to engage, but with only limited understanding of the dangers that lie ahead.
I had no idea that there were so many killed in Syria -- 47k dead.
It's frustrating seeing this happening and being unable to do anything but watch what happens next.
What the West has done is disgusting. A functioning state has been overrun by terrorists armed and backed by the West, a country has been ripped to bits, 47,000 people are dead -- and it looks like the Shia and Allawite populations will be slaughtered if Assad and Russia don't prevail.
The West doesn't care what happens. The more destruction the more profitable it will be rebuilding the place and they probably figure that whoever eventually prevails will be desperate and ready to cooperate with Western interests.
This is unbelievable.

I think it was mentioned in the news, but it didn't mean anything to me. It was just like, yeah, that's what they do.
But it's mind-blowing knowing that Turkey, Syria's neighbour, is actually responsible for financing terrorism and that the European Union (who would be aware of Turkey's terrorist sponsoring activities, seeing both the US and Germany spy on Turkey) has given Turkey $3.2 billion to supposedly keep Middle Eastern invasion/immigration at bay.
So what's going on here? Why not walls and military response instead? Is the EU laundering money via Turkey to fund Middle Eastern terrorism?

The controversy has come amid growing concern in Germany over how to house refugees, with shelters already full across the country and tens of thousands continuing to arrive.

Merkel presses Zuckerberg to monitor racist posts on Facebook
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she wants more action from Facebook when it comes to filtering hateful racial posts. The comments were overheard by media as Merkel was speaking to CEO Mark Zuckerberg on the sidelines of the UN summit.
Merkel’s request could be heard on a live transmission broadcast seconds before the introductory remarks at a luncheon in New York on Saturday.
The German leader asked Zuckerberg about hate speech posts, with the Facebook CEO responding: “We need to do some work.”
Merkel followed up: “Are you working on this?” Zuckerberg was heard replying: “Yeah.”
The transmission was then cut off as the luncheon began.
This is not the first time Merkel has called on Facebook to curtail hate speech comments on the social network.
“When people stir up sedition on social networks using their real name, it’s not only the state that has to act, but also Facebook as a company should do something against these [people],” Merkel told regional newspaper Rheinische Post earlier in September.
The German leader added that the social media company has the tools to track hate speech, but is lacking in enforcement. “The rules need to be implemented,” Merkel said.
The increased attention towards online hate is believed to have been triggered by an influx of refugees traveling to Germany, with around 1 million migrants expected to come to the country this year. The rise in immigrants and refugees from war zones has divided the population, with massive pro- and anti-refugee rallies hitting the country amid intensifying hate rhetoric.

Arch globalist and color revolution mastermind George Sorosdemands Europe “accept responsibility” for the mass influx of Muslims now flooding the continent.
He writes for Project Syndicate, an Open Societypropaganda forum, that the EU is obliged to take in a million Muslim migrants per year and spend $16.8k annually on each, a grand total of $17 billion.
The money would come from frontline European countries and the United States in the form of long-term bonds.
“The EU needs a comprehensive plan to respond to the crisis, one that reasserts effective governance over the flows of asylum-seekers so that they take place in a safe, orderly way, and at a pace that reflects Europe’s capacity to absorb them. To be comprehensive, the plan has to extend beyond the borders of Europe,” Soros writes.
The plan must be globalist in nature, Soros argues, and led by the United Nations. “This would distribute the burden of the Syrian crisis over a larger number of states, while also establishing global standards for dealing with the problems of forced migration more generally.” [What 'Syrian crisis'? Moreover, according to Soros, the Muslim migrants must be allowed to choose where they will settle. Most currently travel to Germany and Western Europe where social benefits are available.
Demographics on the influx show that nearly 60% are young males, 26% children and 18% females over the age of eighteen, according to Eurostat.
The United Nations states the current influx of 8,000 refugees per day entering the continent is merely “the tip of the iceberg.”
“I don’t see it abating, I don’t see it stopping,” Amin Awad, regional refugee coordinator for the United Nations refugee agency UNHCR, said from Geneva last week. “If anything, it gives an indication perhaps that this is the tip of the iceberg.”
Muslim migration “has been the biggest engine of demographic growth in the EU as a whole since the mid-1990s,” a report issued by the EU’s Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development states. “It is about to become the only one.”
So Merkel, Zuckerberg, CIAbook and the German state's appointed Stasi are going to deny the people of Germany freedom of speech in order to censor and mask evidence of deep dissatisfaction & to deny the German public information via social channels.
Merkel, Stasi, Facebook et al, intend to stifle political dissent, with a view to also stifling political action and organisation among dissatisfied Germans, I am guessing.

Note: Germany is the exception -- I believe Germany is ahead financially and have savings rather than national debt. But that's not the point. Those savings are German taxpayer funds.

As for Europe: to my mind, Europe is the home of European people and I see European societies as European societies.

So I find it very hard to witness what is happening in Europe.
