Putin Vindicated: Ukraine Fascists & Potential Ukraine-Jewish Aliyah

JPOST - ARTICLE
Putin says Ukraine being overrun by fascists - and he may be right
05/16/2015
Candidly speaking: Putin, Ukraine and the Jews
The crisis in Ukraine and ‘the new Jewish question
Kiev has now handed the Kremlin "evidence" for Putin’s claim that Russia is facing off against fascists.
Ukrainians greeted the Nazis as liberators during the Second World War

As Ukraine continues its battle against separatists, corruption and a collapsing economy, it has taken a dangerous step that could further tear the country apart: Ukraine’s parliament, the Supreme Rada, passed a draft law last month honoring organizations involved in mass ethnic cleansing during World War Two.

The draft law - which is now on President Petro Poroshenko’s desk awaiting his signature - recognizes a series of Ukrainian political and military organizations as “fighters for Ukrainian independence in the 20th century” and bans the criticism of these groups and their members. (The bill doesn’t state the penalty for doing so.) Two of the groups honored - the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) - helped the Nazis carry out the Holocaust while also killing close to 100,000 Polish civilians during World War Two.

The law is part of a recent trend of contemporary Ukrainian nationalism promoted by those on the extreme right to break with the country’s Communist past and emphasize Ukraine’s suffering under the Soviet regime. In addition to the moral problem of forbidding the criticism of Holocaust perpetrators, the law hinders Ukraine’s European ambitions - and validates Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claims that the country is overrun by neo-Nazis.

The OUN was founded in 1929 as a revolutionary organization designed to liberate Ukraine from Soviet rule and create an independent Ukrainian state. Many OUN leaders were trained in Nazi Germany, and the group’s philosophy was influenced by Nazi racial theorists such as Alfred Rosenberg. OUN literature, for example, declared the need to “combat Jews as supporters of the Muscovite-Bolshevik regime… Death to the Muscovite-Jewish commune! Beat the commune, save Ukraine!”

The OUN fought both the Nazis and the Soviets, and many Ukrainian nationalists have argued that the OUN was primarily a national liberation movement. But while the OUN’s core goal may have been the creation of an independent Ukrainian state, along the way its members were responsible for terrible atrocities.

Starting with a pogrom in Lviv shortly after the Nazis invaded the Soviet Union, OUN militias - with the support of the Nazis - embarked on a killing spree in Western Ukraine that claimed the lives of tens of thousands of Jews. After the Nazis dissolved these militias, many of their members joined the Ukrainian Auxiliary Police in German service, where they received weapons-training and became one of the most important instruments of the Holocaust in Belarus and Western Ukraine.

By 1943 the OUN had seized control of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), a Ukrainian nationalist paramilitary group, and declared itself opposed to both the retreating Germans and the oncoming Soviets. Although no longer in Nazi service, the UPA nevertheless continued to target and kill Jews, herding them into labor camps for execution. The UPA also engaged in the mass ethnic cleansing of Poles during this time, killing nearly 100,000 people.
Even after the Red Army pushed the Germans from Ukraine in the summer of 1944, the UPA continued to fight a partisan war against Soviet forces well into the 1950s, before it was finally crushed by the massive power of the Red Army. It is this legacy of sacrifice that explains the Rada’s decision to pass a law honoring the OUN and the UPA.

This law echoes a recent trend of glorifying right-wing Ukrainian nationalist organizations with controversial pasts. Under former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, a number of leading Ukrainian nationalists were honored with a memorial at Babi Yar - site of the single-worst massacre of Jews during the Holocaust. Yushchenko also bestowed the highest government honor of “Hero of Ukraine” upon the controversial former OUN leader Stepan Bandera - a step roundly condemned by the chief rabbi of Ukraine, the president of Poland and the European Union.

More recently, radical nationalists played a key role as “shock troops” on the Maidan, and the anti-government camp was full of OUN-UPA flags and cries of “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!” - chants that originated with the OUN. Currently, a number of OUN-UPA apologists occupy important government positions, including the minister of education, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine and the director of the Ukrainian government’s Institute of National Memory. Even Poroshenko has gotten into the act, laying a wreath in honor of the OUN at Babi Yar last year.

The draft law has a number of downsides beyond the moral problem of giving the OUN and UPA a free pass for atrocious crimes. Most obviously, making criticism of Holocaust perpetrators illegal is not compatible with Ukraine’s European ambitions. It is natural that many Ukrainians would wish to define themselves in opposition to the former Soviet Union, but as a budding democracy, banning criticism of any organizations - particularly those with such dark pasts - is the wrong way to build national identity.

Kiev also must remember that its conflict with Putin’s Russia is taking place in cyberspace as well as the Donbass. Kiev has now handed the Kremlin “evidence” for Putin’s claim that Russia is facing off against fascists. Not surprisingly, Russian state-owned media outlets have had a field day condemning the law.

Perhaps the worst effect of this law is the way it would split the country. Eastern and western Ukrainians already possess widely diverging views on recent political events such as the collapse of the Soviet Union and the Maidan revolution. The law would only exacerbate these regional differences. Historically, support for the “OUN-cult” originated primarily in the western Ukrainian regions of Galacia and Volhynia, where they are seen as heroic freedom fighters against Soviet oppression. Eastern Ukrainians, by contrast, grew up viewing these groups as Nazi collaborators to be feared and condemned rather than celebrated.

The Rada’s passage of this law has already greatly harmed Ukraine. It is now up to Poroshenko to mitigate the damage by vetoing it.

Poroshenko signs laws praising Ukraine nationalists as ‘freedom fighters’

Published time: May 16, 2015 01:46

The ‘de-communization’ package of laws signed by Poroshenko on Friday also included a legislation banning communist-era symbolic and propaganda, condemning Soviet government on par with German Nazi regime. He also signed laws that will see the release of Soviet-era KGB archives to public, and scrap the term Great Patriotic War from official use replacing it with World War II.

So there you have it.  Ukraine's glorifying Nazi collaborators & those that have committed other WWII atrocities,  according to Jerusalem Post.  And the anti-Russian West can hardly brush off JPost as a 'Kremlin troll' or a Russian cyberwar psyop.

It looks as though this love of homegrown Nazis is entrenched, as it was former Ukrainian (pro-West) President Viktor Yushchenko that first instigated the formal recognition.  So the love of Nazi collaborators would have been known to USA, UK, Germany, and the rest of the EU-NATO parade of clowns that supported the CIA coup in Ukraine.

Yushchenko was in office 2005-2010 and is supposed to be the Orange Revolution president who was given a dose of Agent Orange (which sounds pretty fitting):
Another murky chapter in recent Ukrainian history involves the 2004 poisoning of pro-Western politician Viktor Yushchenko. His successful run for the presidency that year against a Moscow-backed candidate triggered Ukraine’s Orange Revolution. During the campaign, Mr. Yushchenko ingested dioxin, a powerful toxin that left him in severe pain, his face discolored and bloated. Shortly before becoming ill, he had attended a small private dinner with Ihor Smeshko, then SBU chief.

Ukrainian investigators zeroed in on the dinner as a possible site of the poisoning. Mr. Smeshko, whom Mr. Yushchenko had fired upon becoming president, was interrogated by prosecutors. Mr. Smeshko denies he had anything to do with the poisoning, which remains unsolved.

[Wall Street Journal - here]
Anyway, I thought that was rather a quirky detail.  Although it's superficially interesting, I'm not interested enough to dig through the ins and outs of 2004 Ukraine to get a feel for what may have really been going on.  While I don't believe what mainstream media has to say, I've provided a link to WSJ regardless, for anyone that does want to read what likely amounts to US propaganda about 'Russian sabotage'.

Not sure why there's a discrepancy between the JPost article and the RT News article:  the former reporting that the pro-Nazi Ukraine law has been prepared for signature, while the latter's reporting that the law's been signed into effect (along with a ban on communist-era symbolism and "propaganda" and so forth).

Do that note that the JPost writer is a former USAID project officer, who managed projects in the former Soviet Union.

As I've a poor memory and can only remember a vague USAID and CIA connection, checked to see how USAID is connected to the CIA.

Looks like I'm not the only one checking on USAID as a CIA front:
The following are a couple of USAID articles that discuss the CIA connection.  I'll never remember the ins and outs of the CIA connection, so knowing that there is a connection is going to have to be enough for me in the short-term (unless I force myself to read an endless series of these articles, over and over again, until I finally get it.  No chance.  Too lazy.  Also, CIA is too abstract for me:  it's this thing that nobody ever sees; it seems almost like a myth, although I know it's not.  Anyway, hoping that drip-type tiny bits of exposure, here and there, will eventually get the related information to sink in.  LOL).
CIA Front, USAID, “Spreading Democracy”, Gearing Up in Ukraine – Suharto II?

By Scott Creighton
Global Research, May 08, 2014

USAID has a history of working with the CIA as a front operation to help them spread that special kind of “democracy” (read as IMF inspired brutal repression) in nations where we have installed brutal dictators in support of our neoliberal economic agenda.

The murderous history of USAID, the US Government agency behind Cuba’s fake Twitter clone
By Mark Ames
On April 8, 2014

“In a number of countries, including Venezuela and Bolivia, USAID is acting more as an agency involved in covert action, like the CIA, than as an aid or development agency.”

—Mark Weisbrot, Center for Economic and Policy Research

Last week, we learned from the Associated Press that USAID (United States Agency for International Development) — the government agency which manages billions in overseas “humanitarian” aid programs — plotted to overthrow Cuba’s communist regime via a covertly-funded fake Twitter platform.

http://pando.com/2014/04/08/the-murderous-history-of-usaid-the-us-government-agency-behind-cubas-fake-twitter-clone/
I've kind of gone off track here with the USAID diversion, so back to fascists of the Ukraine kind.
Seeing that there's definitely a fascist / neo-Nazi revival in Ukraine, it's interesting that US pro-Israel lobby groups (Anti-Defamation League and the Simon Wiesenthal Centre) have blocked US legislation that would have left Ukraine without US Department of Defence support (ie arms, equipment and training).

This was described as a decision based on 'geopolitics,' but I don't fully understand why organisations that promote what I assume is a Zionist cause are involving themselves in geopolitics.

However, if Ukraine continues to attack the ethnic Russian, pro-independence, population of the east - or if war eventually breaks out between Ukraine and Russia - Israel stands to gain a sizeable additional Jewish population departing from Ukraine, and Jewish population growth is something Israel welcomes and encourages:
Ukraine’s 70,000-strong Jewish community, the world’s 11th-largest, is undergoing what members describe as its biggest upheaval since the Second World War. While most of the country’s Jews live in Kiev, up to a fifth reside (at least until recently) in the conflict-hit east. Convinced they would return home after the fighting ended, many now face the brutal reality of all-out war on Europe’s fringes. Some are resettling elsewhere in Ukraine, while others are immigrating to Israel (an act known as aliyah). The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) estimates that more Ukrainian Jews will make aliyah this year than in the last three years combined. Through September 1 of 2014, 3,252 Jews had relocated to Israel from Ukraine, compared with 1,982 in 2013, according to the IFCJ, which helps foot the bill for the move. In 2012, that number was 2,030. The IFCJ expects to spend some $2 million this year on securing plane tickets to Israel and predicts the number of immigrants could hit 7,000, Yechiel Eckstein, the organization’s founder, told me by telephone from Jerusalem. Under Israel’s Law of Return, any Jew in the world is entitled to Israeli citizenship.

http://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2014/09/ukraine-jewish-community-israel/380515/
I'm wondering if increasing Israel's population may be one of the motivators behind the pro-Israel organisations' move to block legislation that would have prevented the US military from providing assistance to the Ukraine fascists.
* PS
Both Israel and US probably stand to gain from war in Ukraine.  Israel would gain a Jewish population boost and the US gets to sell arms, cause Russia grief and divert Russia from other things.  That being so, it would not be unreasonable to expect Mossad to be part of the Ukraine action - maybe stoking things.  So maybe that ambush of Alexei Mozgovoi was a Mossad job?

OK, I'm probably getting a bit carried away here guessing wildly about Mozgovoi's end. But the premise that Mossad would have an involvement overall seems a sound one, given they operate closely with CIA and given the expected population gains for Israel if conflict continues or war is ignited with Russia.

The other pay-off of war between Ukraine and Russia might be that Russia would perhaps be less focused on events in Syria and the Middle East.  I don't know that for a fact, but it seems reasonable that you'd be more worried about your own backyard than goings on in the Middle East if you had a war on your doorstep to deal with.  If so, that would mean the US-Israeli and Saudi sides could maybe finally get the upper hand in Syria and get on with the mission of destabilising Iran.
* PPS

I don't know what I'm talking about.  LOL
I'm just guessing what could happen, but I don't really know enough for anyone to take this seriously.  For all I know, Russia is capable of 'multi-tasking' and any potential war with Ukraine is primarily about weakening Russia economically and politically, in terms of maybe domestic support for the government (which would be a bonus for the West, as the West is bent on getting rid of Putin and installing some puppet that will let them suck Russia dry).

Tempted to delete the rambling thoughts above, because it really is crap, where I'm not referring to news sources, and I'm just taking wild guesses at what's going on.

Will let it stand, although it's rather embarrassing to get this carried away guessing at players and motivations in Ukraine.

The Israel Lobby Protects Neo-Nazis in Ukraine

An amendment to the 2015 National Defence Authorisation Act that would have forbidden US assistance, training & weapons to neo-Nazis and other extremists in Ukraine was dropped at the request of two of the largest Jewish pressure groups in the United States.

Introduced by Democratic Representative John Conyers, the amendment would have explicitly barred those who have offered praise, or glorification, of Nazism, or its collaborators, including through the use of white supremacist, neo-Nazi or other similar symbols, from receiving any form of support from the US Department of Defence.

But the amendment was dumped after the Congress faced pressure from the Anti-Defamation League (‘ADL’) and the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, two of the loudest pro-Israel groups in the US.

Despite their stated mission to combat anti-Semitism and violent extremism, the ADL and Wiesenthal Centre refused to support Conyer’s proposal on the ground that right-wing Ukrainian parties with documented records of racist extremism had “moderated their rhetoric.”

But this is not supported by facts on the ground in Ukraine.

Ukraine’s US supported President, Petro Poroshenko, is leading the nationalists’ dream with a war in the east and Ukraine’s leading party, The People’s Front, is pocked with far-right militants, including Andrei Parubiy, the co-founder of the neo-Nazi inspired Social National Party.

Besides Parubiy, The People’s Front included Andrei Biletsky, leader of the Azov military, an overtly neo-Nazi fighting force that has been on the frontlines of the battle on eastern Ukraine.  Unlike the Svoboda party, the Azov militia does not even feign moderation.

“The historic mission of our nation, in this critical moment, is to lead the white races of the world in a final crusade for their survival,” Biletsky recently wrote.

“A crusade against the Semite-led untermenschen,” an infamous phrase used in Nazi Germany to describe Jews, gypsies and communists.

Azov fighters are united in their nostalgia for Nazi Germany and embrace of open fascism.  Sporting Swastika tattoos, the battalion “flies a neo-Nazi symbol resembling a Swastika as its flag,” according to Andrew Kramer of the New York Times.

Azov is precisely the sort of neo-Nazi organisation that Conyers’ NDAA amendment would have deprived of US assistance.

But when the Congressman sought support from the ADL and the Weisanthal Centre in moving forward, he was rebuked.

The amendment died a quiet death and Azov’s American supply line remained intact.

ADL’s current posture is in stark contrast to its stance early this year when its outgoing leader, Abraham Foxman noted the Svoboda party’s “history of anti-Semitism and platform of ethnic nationalism” and demanded the party renounce its past glorification of Stepan Bandera a WWII era Nazi collaborator, who has become a symbol of Ukrainian nationalsm.

So one minute the ADL is rightfully admonishing the Ukrainian neo-Nazi groups, and the next minute it’s clamouring to give them heavy weaponry?

An ADL lobbyist shed light on this paradox by stating:

the focus should be on Russia,”

making it clear that the ADL’s position is based on geopolitics; not to fight “anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry,” as their mission statement claims.

NOTE

I believe the man in Nazi uniform in the abovementioned video is:

Reinhard Gehlen

rather than Stepan Bandera.
Gehlen was Hitler's eastern front intelligence officer, turned USA / CIA associate, before eventually becoming German intelligence (BND) head.  That's the same intelligence agency that's recently been exposed spying on European politicians and corporations on behalf of the US agency, NSA.

The USA has a history of association with Nazis in the aftermath of WWII, and it appears that Zionist organisations have also had a history of collaboration with Nazis - here.

MSM Silence & US Hypocrisy - Ukraine Assassinations

Weekend Edition May 1-3, 2015
Silent on the Kiev Dead
US Hypocrisy Over Ukraine and Saudi Arabia
by BRIAN CLOUGHLEY
Boris Nemtsov was a Russian politician who was shot dead in Moscow on January 27, 2015.  He was opposed to Russia’s government and its leader and therefore, according to Western dogma of these times, his murder must have been ordered by President Putin.

Police began investigating the crime promptly but there was no pause for deliberation on the part of some western leaders and much of their media : they reacted immediately and leapt to censure the Russian government and especially President Putin in terms that were not only abusive, insolent and confrontational but confirmation of the fact that there is no intention on their part to ever consider diplomacy in their dealings with Moscow.

French President Hollande described Nemtsov as a “defender of democracy” and called the death an assassination.  Britain’s prime minister Cameron declared that “Boris Nemtsov is dead. But the values he stood for will never die,” and demanded that the death be “fully, rapidly and transparently investigated.” President Obama  announced that “we call upon the Russian government to conduct a prompt, impartial, and transparent investigation into the circumstances of his murder.”

These Western heads of government knew well that their public pronouncements and peremptory demands were condemnatory insinuations against the democratically elected administration of Russia, but their intention is to cripple the country and topple President Putin and they seize any opportunity to disparage and insult him. Their line of attack is that if something unpleasant happens in Russia it is without doubt the fault of President Putin who must at once be subjected to vilification in terms that imply his personal responsibility for whatever crime has taken place.

There would have been sanctimonious uproar in the west if Putin ever commented in such a fashion about, for example, the killing by police of unarmed black people in America, but spiteful pronouncements on Russia’s domestic affairs by western leaders are considered praiseworthy by most western mainstream news outlets which have been very quiet about some strange happenings in Ukraine where, as The Economist observes, “Dodgy economic policy, distaste for reform and endemic corruption have brought the country to its knees.”

In the three months after the killing of Nemtsov there were at least eleven mysterious deaths in Ukraine, most in the capital, Kiev:

January ...29: politician Aleksey Kolesnik, dead by hanging.

February 24 : politician Stanislav Melnik shot dead.

February 25 : mayor of Melitopol Sergey Valter dead by hanging.

February 26 : deputy chief of Melitopol police, Aleksandr Bordyuga, found dead.

February 28 : politician Mikhail Chechetov, dead by fall from apartment window.

March ........ 9 : politician Stanislav Melnik shot dead.

March .......12 : politician Oleksandr Peklushenko shot dead.

March .......22 : former prosecutor Serhiy Melnychuk dead by fall from apartment window.

April ...........13:  journalist Sergei Sukhobok shot dead .

April ...........15 : politician Oleg Kalashnikov shot dead.

April ...........16 : journalist Oles Buzyna shot dead.

By coincidence most of the dead had been critical of the Ukraine government, supportive of Russia, or possessed information that might have been embarrassing for the Ukraine’s  billionaire President Petro Poroshenko, owner of a mammoth confectionary corporation, car plants, a shipyard, and a major television station, who delivered an address to a joint session of the US Congress and continues to receive unquestioning western support for his increasingly erratic statements and behavior.

Although most western media and all western political leaders ignored these deaths, the redoubtable Newsweek scented a story and began to investigate.  It recorded  that:

In reply to a legal request by Newsweek for information on investigations into the deaths of seven other former officials, all tied to [former President] Viktor Yanukovych’s Party of Regions, the General Prosecutor’s Office responded that all the information about all the deaths was a state secret — a staggering claim to make about a series of apparently unrelated civilian deaths they told the press were suicides.
If the equivalent office in Moscow had given such a response to a western media inquiry there would have been scathing headlines in the New York Times, the British Telegraph and all the other determinedly anti-Russian media machines of the west.  Newsweek’s informative observations on obvious corruption in official legal circles in Ukraine elicited no follow-up of any kind in the west’s media — but had there been similar revelations about Russia there would have been a blitz of self-righteous condemnation.

The end of Newsweek’s piece is especially noteworthy:
Watching the [Ukraine's] top prosecutors leaving the General Prosecutor’s Office in sharp suits and stepping into gleaming Porsches, BMWs and Land Rovers, it’s clear that the average state prosecutor’s wage, equivalent to 400 euros [USD 430]  per month, isn’t their only source of income. Within the same building, officials are representing an array of different interests. With such great wealth at stake, the truth about these deaths is unlikely to emerge any time soon. Back in Odessa, three prosecutors laugh as they dismiss allegations that their office tried to cover up Sergei Melnychuk’s murder. They have good reason to be happy. They’re off to the Rugby World Cup in London later this year, an event where one ticket . . .  sells for the equivalent of 400 euros.

Just the sort of people you would trust to conduct legal action concerning mysterious deaths of anti-government figures.

The leader of the west’s anti-Russian campaign is President Obama who told the media on March 2 that “freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, freedom of information, basic civil rights and civil liberties inside of Russia are in much worse shape now than they were four or five, ten years ago.”  If this is so, then he was right to point it out.

But Obama’s condemnation of countries that are guilty of denying “civil liberties” is intriguingly selective. There is one particularly rich country that escapes the net of his disapproval.

POROSHENKO - US PUPPET - US AGENT

Our Ukraine Insider: The New President Once Agent for the US State Department
Michael Collins / The 4th Media News | Wednesday, June 11, 2014, 17:43 Beijing

Is he still working for his former masters in Washington, DC?

Two diplomatic messages from the WikiLeaks Public Library on U.S. Diplomacy indicate that newly elected President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko was an agent for United States State Department. A confidential message from the U.S. Embassy in Kiev on April 29, 2006 mentions the newly elected Ukraine president twice. ...

[...]

The inauguration speech in Kiev included the new president’s desire to sign the European Union (EU) association agreement and seek full integration into the EU, which implies NATO membership.

“Dear friends, my pen is already in my hands. I am ready now. As soon as the EU takes a relevant decision, the signature of the Ukrainian president will immediately appear under this document. We see the association agreement as only the first step towards Ukraine’s fully-fledged membership in the European Union ” Petro Poroshenko, June 7

As Poroshenko spoke, “Residents [of Slavyansk, eastern Ukraine] said the sounds of shelling reverberated around the city on Friday.” ABC, June 7

Which Poroshenko can we believe? The president who worked for the U.S. as “our Ukraine insider” or the elected head of a sovereign state engaged in honest diplomacy?

Right now, it’s safe to stick with the bellicose rhetoric of the inaugural speech. In a heavily documented report, RT showed the handiwork of President Poroshenko’s troops in Slavyansk – eight dead yesterday from aerial bombardment of the separatist occupied city administrative building.

“Death and destruction is reported in eastern Ukraine as Kiev’s artillery has resumed shelling the rebellious city of Slavyansk. Locals tell RT they have been without running water and power for days, and that hope is fading.” RT, June 8

The $5 billion spent to get a U.S. friendly government in the Ukraine worked. “Our Ukraine insider,” Petro Poroshenko, is president. He was informed five years ago that the U.S. wanted Ukraine in NATO, and he no doubt heard Vice President Joseph Biden’s speech in Kiev. Without a vote by Congress or a valid treaty, Biden assured the then coup-run government that our government would be there to help.

U.S. will stand by Ukraine in face of Russian aggression, Biden says

“I came here to Kiev to let you know, Mr. Prime Minister, and every Ukrainian know that the United States stands with you and is working to support all Ukrainians seeking a better future. You should know that you will not walk this road alone. We will walk it with you.” Vice President Joseph Biden, April 22

The players and plans have been in place for years and it’s all paid off. The White House and their masters finally have their insider in place in charge of Ukraine. It’s worth listening to the assessment of former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine John E. Herbst and his Deputy around the time they handled Poroshenko. The ambassador saw him as a “disgraced oligarch” and his deputy pointed out that “Poroshenko was tainted by credible corruption allegations.”

Spreading brand democracy around the world is a tough job. Somebody’s got to do it.

UKRAINE - INTERNATIONAL-LED RED CROSS RELUCTANTLY AGREED TO BY US PUPPET GOVT

Ukraine OKs Red Cross-led international relief mission

Posted: Monday, August 11, 2014 11:26 pm

Associated Press |

DONETSK, Ukraine — Ukrainian forces on Monday zeroed in on rebel strongholds as the government welcomed an international humanitarian relief mission into the rebellious east involving Russia, the United States and the European Union.

The mission will be conducted under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross. The organization said in a statement it is ready to facilitate the operation with the involvement of all sides concerned following a Russian initiative to provide humanitarian assistance to people in eastern Ukraine.

It wasn’t clear when the deliveries would start.

“The practical details of this operation need to be clarified before this initiative can move forward,” said Laurent Corbaz, the ICRC’s head of operations for Europe and Central Asia.

Moscow had long urged Kiev to allow the aid delivery, but Ukraine and the West previously had opposed the move, fearing that it could serve as a pretext for sending Russian troops into rebel-held territory. Ukraine and the West have accused Moscow of arming and supporting the rebels fighting government troops in the east, a charge that the Kremlin has denied.

The Red Cross said it has shared a document with Ukrainian and Russian authorities that stipulates all parties must guarantee the security of its staff during the operation and respect the organization’s neutrality. [How exactly is Russia supposed to do that when these are *independent* Ukraine citizens standing against the US puppet government of Ukraine?]

The aid mission was announced after a conversation between U.S. President Barack Obama and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko Monday. The White House said that Obama and Poroshenko agreed that “any Russian intervention in Ukraine without the formal, express consent and authorization of the Ukraine government would be unacceptable and a violation of international law.” [More US propaganda.  Russia has not intervened.  On the contrary, it's the US that has stepped in to prop up a puppet government with US $5 BILLION - in aid of CORPORATE AMERICAN interests in Ukraine - which has already been divvied up and already has Biden's son ('Hunter' (sounds like a Palin name) installed in the country.]

Shortly before that, Russia had declared that it was dispatching a humanitarian convoy into Ukraine in cooperation with the Red Cross without giving any details. President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, later was quoted by Russian news wires as saying that the convoy wouldn’t involve and military personnel.  [Ha, ha... Russia took the initiative and Obama and Poroshenko clowns trying to take credit, where they previously blocked aid to 3.9 million people.  Despicable.]

Officials in Kiev took pains to specify Monday that the Ukrainian government was behind the humanitarian convoy initiative, and that Moscow was only one of several countries involved.  [Of course they did.  LMAO]

“Apart from deliveries provided by Ukraine, the mission will feature an international component, including aid provided to the International Committee of the Red Cross by the United States, the EU, as well as Russia,” Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said.  [The EU's involved in propping up the US puppet govt of Ukraine]

The ministry also laid out specific conditions for the aid shipment, saying it should only pass through checkpoints controlled by the Ukrainian government. At least 100 kilometers (60 miles) of the long Russian-Ukrainian border is currently in rebel hands

It said that the aid will be distributed by the Ukrainian authorities in the Luhansk region, one of the two mostly Russian-speaking rebel provinces. Some of the heaviest impact on civilians has been seen in Luhansk — the rebel-held capital of the Luhansk province that had a pre-war population of 420,000.  [That I would not agree to.  Who would trust them to distribute aid?]

City authorities said Monday that the 250,000 residents remaining have had no electricity or water supplies for nine days.Food, medicine and fuel are also not being delivered, the Luhansk city government said.

[...]

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov criticized the West for its reluctance to support the delivery of Russian aid earlier, but voiced hope for the success of the mission. “I hope that our Western partners will not put a spanner in the works,” he said.

Alexander Zakharchenko, the leader of the self-proclaimed rebel government in the Donetsk region, said Monday that the insurgents were ready to observe a cease-fire to allow humanitarian aid to pass into Luhansk.

The talk about the relief mission came as fierce fighting continued to rage in the east.  Donetsk city council spokesman Maxim Rovinsky said a rocket hit a high-security prison Monday, killing at least one inmate and leaving three others severely wounded.

[...]

Both Ukrainian government forces and the pro-Russian rebels have deployed heavy Soviet-built weapons that lack precision.  [Oh, blame Ukraine govt shelling Ukraine people on 'lack of precision'.  *Eyeroll*. ]

Apartments and other civilian buildings have frequently been hit, adding to the mounting death toll among civilians.  [Thank the Poroshenko US puppet government for that.]

Many of those in Russian-speaking eastern Ukraine distrust the new central government in Kiev, which came to power after the February ouster of former President Viktor Yanukovych, whose power base was in eastern Ukraine. [His power base must have been wider, seeing he was the elected President.]

Fighting began a month after Russia annexed Ukraine’s peninsula of Crimea in March.  [Oh, yes, tack on Crimea.  And let's forget about ousting of an *ELECTED* President, installation of a US puppet government, the disregard for agreement signed with Russia, the signing of bullshit EU agreement, the US division of spoils in Ukraine, and the oppression of a sizeable Eastern Ukraine population who want no part in the US puppet state.]

The language of this article really got up my nose.

Poroshenko 'welcomed' humanitarian aid?  Please, the arsehole blocked it along with his arsehole US-UK and EU puppet masters.

The East Ukraine independence supporters are meanwhile described as the 'rebellious east', denying these people the voice they deserve and dismissing them, devalued and voiceless.  Arseholes.

Drawing Russia into this is just bullshit. As if Russia can guarantee (or in any way control) people in East Ukraine, who have independently stood against oppression.

Love how these arseholes change their tunes and take credit, as if humanitarian aid was all their idea, while they fought tooth and nail blocking aid.

Disgusting, shameless pigs.  All of them.

Nobody's bothered to report on the Eastern Ukrainian people's David and Goliath struggle against oppressors.

The western press is truly fucked and maybe those extreme messages littering twitter are right:  why bother fighting for freedom of press when the press do nothing but SUPPRESS truth for their corporate masters.

Arseholes.

POROSHENKO - HOT!

G O O G L E SUCKS

UKRAINE
Poroshenko

From recollection, this would simply have been a mocked up image of a painted Petro Poroshenko,  holding up an oversized corset instead of the EU flag, or whatever it was that he was publicly holding up, in the original image (used on copyright fair-use basis, obviously).

Just a bit of well-deserved political ridicule, that Google has CENSORED.

Independent (UK) - Runs a propaganda article on East Ukrainian independence supporters

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/ukraine-crisis-rebels-in-donetsk-say-discipline-is-good-after-they-carried-out-executions-to-prevent-chaos-9644629.html

 [Sun, 3 August 2014]

Some biased reporting going on here, in the guise of a bit of Sunday war infotainment with pics.

The East Ukrainian independence supporters are portrayed as summary executioners.

Fighting's taken more than 1,500 lives, they report.

Yeah, but Not-so-Independent does not mention that the Ukraine government is firing at East Ukraine, including the civilians, or what they're firing -- including ballistic missiles.

No mention of targeted destruction by Ukraine government.

No mention of sly lifting of Ukraine arms ban.

Nor does it mention that US puppet Poroshenko refused to extend a ceasefire, with US blessings.

Not-so-Independent is also pathetic captioning this photo:

'destroyed by fightings between ...".

As if the East Ukraine independence supporters are aiming at their own people.

The same applies to the photo of the senior citizen looking out the window of her 'damaged house'.  Again, it's left unsaid that Poroshenko can take credit for that.

That would be the work of Poroshenko and his US puppet government's actions.

Ultimately, the US can take a bow for the destruction in East Ukraine.

UKRAINE PUPPET GOVT - USING BALLISTIC MISSILES AGAINST INDEPENDENCE SUPPORTERS

Russia Concerned by Reports of Kiev Using Ballistic Missiles in Eastern Ukraine

18:27 30/07/2014

DUSHANBE, July 30 (RIA Novosti) – Moscow is concerned by reports that Ukraine’s government troops have used ballistic missiles against independence supporters in the country’s east, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday.

Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko Tuesday confirmed the country’s readiness to provide access to international experts to the crash site of the Malaysia Airlines passenger plane in Donetsk Region, declaring a unilateral ceasefire within a 20-kilometer (12-mile) radius.

“Now, unfortunately, actions suggest the opposite: Donetsk, Luhansk and other villages in these regions are being shelled with Grad rocket launchers, artillery and tanks.

On Tuesday, citing US officials CNN reported that Ukraine’s government troops used short-range ballistic missiles in the east. The weapons have a range of about 50 miles and pack warheads of up to 1,000 pounds.

These missiles could have been fired from a Tochka short-range ballistic missile system (NATO Designation SS-21 Scarab), the report said. If the reports are accurate, these are “the most deadly missiles to date used in the conflict," CNN said.

“All this is concerning, and everything is happening amid allegations that Russia and the militia are impeding inspectors’ access to the [Boeing] crash site,” Lavrov told a group of young Tajik diplomats.

No surprise there.
It's a do or die.
US wants Ukraine and European gas market.
Ukraine's been bought by US 'aid' and is under the boot of IMF.
