With all eyes on the United States, hoping to see a little political pressure to stop the slaughter of Palestinians, the White House moved only to replenish Israeli stockpiles of ammunition. Questions must be answered, particularly by the German leadership, about their failure to confront this latest genocide in the Holy Land. Also, about Chancellor Merkel continuing to bankroll Ukraine's Nazi Pravy Sektor and neo-Nazi Svoboda parties who continue to hold key security and defense portfolios in her Brussels-backed Kiev government. Missiles launched in Mediterranean towards Syrian coast, claims Russian defence ministry Russia has claimed that its missile early warning system has detected the launch of two missiles from the central part of the Mediterranean Sea fired towards the Sea's eastern coastline. 10:29AM BST 03 Sep 2013 The launches took place at 10:16 am Moscow time (0616 GMT) and were detected by the ballistic missile early warning system in Armavir in southern Russia, the defence ministry said in a statement quoted by Russian news agencies. Shortly after 11am, Israel announced that it had carried out a joint missile test with the US in the Mediterranean, using a missile designed to shoot down incoming missiles. Russia's state-owned RIA Novosti news agency said both missiles then crashed into the sea, citing a source in Damascus. The Russian embassy in Syria said there was no sign of a missile attack or of explosions in Damascus. The Ministry of Defence in London confirmed that the missiles were not British. ... Russia had earlier criticised the United States on Tuesday for sending warships close to Syria, saying the deployments would exacerbate tension as Washington prepares for a possible military strike. "The pressure being applied by the United States causes particular concern," Russian Defence Ministry official Oleg Dogayev was quoted as saying by the state-run Itar-Tass news agency. He said "the dispatch of ships armed with cruise missiles toward Syria's shores has a negative effect on the situation in the region." Five US destroyers and an amphibious ship are in the Mediterranean, poised for possible cruise missile strikes against Syria, and American officials said the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz and four other ships in its strike group moved into the Red Sea on Monday. Russia, one of the Syrian government's main arms suppliers, opposes military intervention over an alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria. Ukrainian Army’s Shelling Interrupts TV, Radio Broadcast in Donetsk 08:15 03/08/2014 DONETSK, August 3 (RIA Novosti) - Television broadcast was interrupted in eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk due to Ukrainian army’s artillery shelling of the city, a representative from Donetsk People’s Republic’s television and radio committee told RIA Novosti. “Ukrainian aviation carried out an artillery assault against the power station in Mandrykyne [southern suburb of Donetsk.] The power station was severely damaged, another 220 stations went down shortly after. One of them powered TV aerial in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk. As a result, TV broadcast stopped in Donetsk, as well as the broadcast of 70 percent of radio stations,” the committee’s representative told RIA Novosti. On Saturday, at least three people were killed in artillery shelling in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk. The shells hit a school and a local power station. According to the committee’s representative, “this was obviously not a random shelling, but there is a targeted destruction of key positions, as it was previously done in Luhansk.” The committee’s representative added that they foresaw such development of the events and arranged two reserve radio transmitting stations. In mid-July, Donetsk authorities ordered to halt the broadcast of Ukrainian TV channels replacing them with Russian ones. At the moment, Radio Republic, official radio station of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, is broadcasting in the region. While TV broadcast is unavailable, but the repair work is underway. Ukraine’s government troops have used ballistic missiles against independence supporters in the country’s east. CNN reported citing US officials earlier this week that Ukraine’s government troops used short-range ballistic missiles in the east. Sneaky EU - Double Standards - Lifting Ukraine Arms Ban

Russia accuses EU of ending ban on arms to Ukraine 14:25, 02 August 2014 Saturday Russia's Foreign Ministry accused the European Union of "double standards" on Saturday by lifting a ban on supplying Ukraine with military technology and equipment "on the quiet". Relations between Moscow and Brussels have deteriorated since the EU imposed sanctions on Russia over its involvement in the conflict in eastern Ukraine, where pro-Russian separatists are fighting government forces. In its heaviest penalties on Moscow yet, the EU passed a new round of sanctions on Russia's defence, energy and financial sectors this week. "During a recent meeting of the Council of Europe in Brussels, leaders of EU member states agreed 'on the quiet' to remove restrictions on exports to Kiev of equipment that could be used for internal repression," the ministry said in a statement on its website. "Exports of military technologies and equipment were also allowed," the statement said, without saying when the decision was taken by the EU. It said the restrictions had been put in place in February, the month that Viktor Yanukovich was ousted as Ukraine's president. Removing such restrictions showed double standards, it said, and called on EU leaders not to be "goaded" by Washington over events in eastern Ukraine. Spent AGES preparing my WWI imperialist war is much like today's imperialist war looming in Eastern Europe  ...corporate-imperialism at work in Europe manifesto ... and then somehow deleted it in error, just as I was putting finishing touches on formatting and about to post. No idea how this is even possible, although anything's possible banging away at the keyboard without caution.  LOL.  Blogger defaults draft document to a name that comes from the contents of the first line of the post, so it's not like I've inadvertently deleted some unnamed draft post. Blogger also defaults to saving a document accidentally exited out of.  So, again, where is it?    *Hair pulling* Not in drafts.  It's not published.   I could just about cry ... but I've got to laugh.
