Now the Nazis’ apprentices in Sweden are using similar tactics to intimidate government opponents. Observers of Swedish politics have long anticipated that the country’s only oppositional party, the Sweden Democrats, would be hit with a coordinated campaign in order to wreck the party before the up-coming parliamentary elections in September. As the Sweden Democrats’ opinion polls keep rising – and are now above 12 percent – supporters of the status quo when it comes to mass immigration are clearly worried and have embarked on a campaign to take down the party. The axe is being wielded by the newspaper Expressen in collaboration with the semi-official left extremist intelligence-gathering organization, the Research Group. Their objective is to expose anonymous contributors to so-called ”hate sites” – i.e., sites that express opinions anathema to the ruling group of seven political parties or provide information that the ruling parties and their allies in the mainstream media and their far-left abettors do not want the public to know. In particular, the wrecking campaign is directed against individuals who have expressed non-state sanctioned opinions on immigration and Islam. In practice it is impossible for critics of the seven-party line to be heard in the surface media, so a great number of Swedes have tried to get their opinions across by anonymously posting them at such sites as Exponerat, Avpixlat and Fria Tider. By means of penetrating the commenting system Disqus, the Research Group has succeeded in finding the mailing addresses of these anonymous commentators and Expressen has now started publishing their names and other personal information about them. Expressen and the Research Group insist that they have broken no law in the process. Clearly, the pronouncements of some of those that have been exposed are such that no regular newspaper would print them – whether in Sweden or any other Western country. But it has to be kept in mind that these are the voices of people whose opinions have been driven underground. These are the words of those who feel desperate and who would probably have spoken in more measured tones if they had had a chance to be heard in the mainstream media. In other words, when a vast section of public opinion is excluded from being heard – as has been the case in Sweden for decades – this is what might have been expected. There can be no doubt that Expressen’s aim is to ruin the lives and careers of those it is now hanging out to dry ­– and to frighten anyone else from voicing criticism of the government’s failed immigration and integration policies. In other words, after stifling debate in the mainstream media, the Swedish political and media elite is now attempting to close the last outlets for anti-government speech. And as Avpixlat comments,  Expressen has gone far beyond merely exposing its enemies. The paper’s journalists have ”approached private individuals in their homes, their places of work and even harassing their children in school. It no longer looks like persecution –­ it is persecution.” Expressen and its far-left collaborators are of course well aware of what they are exposing their victims to: They may lose their jobs or businesses, their families and friends, they will become vulnerable to physical attacks, their homes may be wrecked – as has already happened. Some will undoubtedly despair and end up committing suicide. Penetrating the Disqus commenting system may be legal in Sweden – although Disqus has characterized the methods of the Research Group as a ”targeted attack”. In a statement dated December 10, Disqus VP Stephen Roy, describes the activities of the Research Group – ­ without directly identifying it – as a ”breach of our privacy guidelines. Nowhere does it inform its readers that the owner of the newspaper, Rupert Murdoch, has a vested interest in this subject through his role and shares in Genie Energy, an Israeli company granted oil rights in Syria by the Israeli government. Dick Cheney and Lord Rothschild are also shareholders. No, they really are. This is not a conspiracy theory. It is a conspiracy. That Israel should grant oil rights within Syria is of course a striking example of contempt for international law, but then that is the basis on which Israel normally operates. Of course Genie’s share value will be substantially boosted by the installation of a neo-con puppet regime in Damascus which can be bought to underwrite the oil concession granted by Israel. Contempt for international law has been the single most important defining characteristic of neo-conservatism, and the need to uphold international law the recurring theme of this blog. I never thought the UK government would make the withdrawal of its support for the concept of international law explicit, as Cameron has done by removing the obligation to comply with international law from the Ministerial Code. That is truly, truly disgraceful. But to return to Murdoch’s oil interests in Syria, it seems to me a fundamental flaw that when Fox News, Sky News, the Times, the Sun and Murdoch’s numerous other media outlets bang the drum for Western military action in Syria, there is no requirement for the consumer of this propaganda to be told that the outlet is pushing a policy in line with the financial interests of its owner. Some biased reporting going on here, in the guise of a bit of Sunday war infotainment with pics.

The East Ukrainian independence supporters are portrayed as summary executioners.

Fighting's taken more than 1,500 lives, they report.  

Yeah, but Not-so-Independent does not mention that the Ukraine government is firing at East Ukraine, including the civilians, or what they're firing -- including ballistic missiles.  

No mention of targeted destruction by Ukraine government.

No mention of sly lifting of Ukraine arms ban.

Nor does it mention that US puppet Poroshenko refused to extend a ceasefire, with US blessings.

As if the East Ukraine independence supporters are aiming at their own people.

The same applies to the photo of the senior citizen looking out the window of her 'damaged house'.  Again, it's left unsaid that Poroshenko can take credit for that.

That would be the work of Poroshenko and his US puppet government's actions.

Ultimately, the US can take a bow for the destruction in East Ukraine.

Opened the link and found what immediately struck me one of the most biased articles I've come across.

The close, in particular, stuck out as a red flag to me:

Wikipedia mentioned a controversy over the following report, written by MacEoin (which was 'drawn up' by an organisation known as 'Policy Exchange'):

Policy Exchange admits NLCM clear of any wrong-doing Following NLCM win right to appeal, Policy Exchange's offer of out of court settlement accepted On 27 October 2007, the Policy Exchange published a report entitled “The Hijacking of British Islam” in which they named the North London Central Mosque Trust as one of a number of mosques in the UK which they alleged were purveyors of extremist and hate literature. As is well known, the Trustees and management of the NLCM have worked hard since the take-over in 2005 to cleanse the Mosque from the violence, extremism and intolerance that it was linked with previously during the time it was controlled by people such as Abu Hamza. The ethos of the Mosque is to be embracing of all individuals regardless of their race, religion or gender, to work for social cohesion and to encourage Muslims to play a leading role in British society. The Management take-over was a pivotal event in the community which involved local Muslim community and organizations alongside the Government, the local Authorities, the Police and Members of Parliament. The allegations contained in the Report were therefore not only offensive and defamatory but undermined the huge and important efforts by all who were involved in the take-over. The Mosque trustees and management have always emphatically denied the claims contained in the Report. Moreover, the Report appeared to be based on highly suspicious methods of research and the evidence on which the Mosque was named was entirely dubious as exposed by the Newsnight excellent investigative report by Richard Watson. The failure of Policy Exchange to sue Newsnight over Watson's report, despite explicitly threatening to do so in front of millions of viewers, is telling how shaky the grounds Policy Exchange stands on regarding their report, the report they took off their website completely after settling with another mosque similarly accused in the report. In 2007, a claim by NLCM was issued against the Policy Exchange, and the author of the Report, Denis MacEoin, for defamation. At the first stage in the High Court, the claim was struck out, not on the basis of its merit, which we maintain was strong, but on the technical capacity of unincorporated charities not being able to be claimants in defamation cases in their own right, a loop in the law we believe legislators should look at. In April of this year, the Court of Appeal, after hearing legal argument from the Mosque regarding charities and defamation law, gave us permission to appeal against the decision striking out our claim. The case would potentially have had far-reaching implications for unincorporated charities all across the UK. The appeal was listed for October 2010. We were confident of our chances of success; however, being trustees of a charity, we had to act in the best interests of the Mosque and decided that rather than continuing the risks of litigation, we would accept a request by Policy Exchange to settle out of court after we won the right to appeal. In the circumstances, the Policy Exchange has now published on their website the following statement: In our Report’ The Hijacking of British Islam’, published in October 2007, we stated that the North London Central Mosque was one of the mosques where extremist literature was found. Policy Exchange has never sought to suggest that the literature cited in the Report was sold or distributed at the Mosque with the knowledge or consent of the Mosque’s trustees or staff. We are happy to set the record straight. The Mosque is now cleared of any false accusations of being a purveyor of extremist literature. We trust that no allegations of this nature will be repeated. Press Release | Policy Exchange admits it was wrong about North London Central Mosque Thursday, 04 November 2010 The BMI is delighted with the result of the out of court settlement reached between the North London Central Mosque Trust ("the Mosque") and the Policy Exchange ("PX") as regards the publication in October 2007 of the PX report entitled "The Hijacking of British Islam". The report accused a number of mosques in the UK of distributing extremist literature and in particular, accused the Mosque of only having undergone cosmetic change since new Trustees were appointed by the UK government to rid the mosque of Abu Hamza and his followers. The terms of the out of court settlement reached between PX and the Mosque culminated in a humiliating admission by PX that neither the trustees nor the staff of the Mosque had any dealings with the extremist material it had falsely alleged were found at the Mosque premises in 2007. As the BBC Newsnight programme revealed at the time of the report's publication, the receipts provided by the PX to the BBC to support the outrageous allegations that the Mosque's staff and/or Trustees were distributing extremist literature, were crudely forged. It is disgraceful for a self proclaimed 'leading independent think tank' to have provided such material to the BBC and not to have apologised for having done so – despite numerous requests to do so. At the High Court hearing on the issue of the Claimant's capacity raised by PX, Mr Justice Eady decided that a charity itself could not be the Claimant in a defamation case. This was a technical legal point and the merits of the case were not addressed at all. This decision has been misleadingly reported by some journalists including the Daily Telegraph's Andrew Gilligan. Permission to appeal this point was subsequently granted by Lord Justice Sedley (of the Court of Appeal) on the basis that there is a genuine argument for Charities to be allowed to bring defamation cases in their own right. The case before the Court of Appeal was listed for a hearing in October 2010 and the Mosque was confident that it would be successful. However, it seems that PX saw sense in settling out of court, clearly due to a real fear of losing the case and agreed to publish a statement which exonerated the Mosque's staff and Trustees from any wrong-doing and in doing so effectively admitted that the credibility and accuracy of its Report was fatally undermined. BMI has also learnt that despite claims made by PX and Andrew Gilligan, no costs were paid by the Mosque to PX.
