Not sure that this summary has helped me enormously, as I'm just an average, not too bright, person. What struck me about this is that taxpayer money (in my view) should not be going back to any religious (ie POLITICAL) groups, particularly in what is supposed to be secular society. It doesn't matter to me that like kickbacks go to other religious (ie POLITICAL) groups. I don't think host societies should be funding political (or personal) ambitions of groups that represent interests of outsiders to the host nation. Found myself wondering why the Clinton deputy chief of staff isn't Anglo-American or European (ie Huma Abedin, Islamic Indian-Pakistani), and why there seems to be so few Anglo-Americans in American politics. If I were the purported 62%, I would want to know why (a) my demographic has dramatically dwindled and (b) why my institutions are dominated by those that are not Anglo-Americans or those of European origin. I'm sure that if the demographic of the Turks in Turkey had dwindled to 62% and if the country and its institutions were dominated by those that are not Turks, the Turks would have cause for concern. However, the Turks aren't fools, and whatever you might think of Erdogan, at least Erdogan promotes Turkish interests. I don't know what kind of scam the Clinton Foundation is, but it sounds like some kind of scam to me. The sums of money being put through that are obscene, and the network of interconnecting shifty NGOs is mind-boggling. The average person would have a hard time getting a handle on all these NGOs, the influence, and the money moving through them. The average news reader who doesn't follow this very closely, would have no hope of seeing the bigger picture when it comes to American political figures and their various connections. I'm with the Saudis on stopping the sue-the-government law when terrorists strike. I think that's bullsh*t, and so is suing banks. The responsibility lies with terrorist groups, and this is just another American ambulance-chaser money-making scam.

They elected him just a few months ago, and they weren’t going to let the army steal their vote. This massive popular uprising-for-the-government broke the will of the plotters. Thus history has been made in Turkey, by direct action of the people. Amazed by the epic fail of the putsch, Erdogan’s enemies concocted a “hoax coup” conspiracy story. In the pro-Zionist Al-Monitor, a Turkish expert asked accusingly: “Why did the putschists — knowing that Erdogan was neither in Ankara nor Istanbul but instead spending his vacation in the Mediterranean seaside town of Marmaris — not move to detain him?” However, now we have this video of the armed soldiers dropping by ropes from their helicopters and storming the hotel where the president stayed – some thirty minutes after he left. Turkish top brass has long been known for its pro-NATO, pro-USA and pro-Israel sympathies. The coup leader, the Air Force commander General Akin Öztürk served as the military attaché in Tel Aviv. Bekir Ercan Van, the commander of the Incirlik air base has been arrested after his request for political asylum in the US had been refused. If they had won, they would have been applauded and feted in the West. Yes, Virginia, there was a coup, and it failed.   [comment:  wow, really?  I was leaning towards the fake coup option.  Turkey was prepared to commit false flag activities in Syria, so why not a false coup to ensure no challenge to power of the Ottoman wannabes?   ] The man behind the coup is allegedly Fethullah Gülen, once an ally of Erdogan but now his bitter enemy. It is claimed Gülen’s organisation Hizmet (Service) forms a “deep state” or a “parallel state” in Turkey and beyond, with millions of followers in all walks of life, something similar to free masons of old. The ex-FBI whistle-blower Sibel Edmonds described Gülen’s network as a CIA asset. The Russians run afoul of Gülen by banning Hizmet’s activities in Russia in 2008. The Turkish F-16 pilot who almost changed the history of the Middle East by shooting down the Russian SU-24 bomber over Syria on November 24, 2015 (his name was Mustafa Hajruoglu, it was claimed by his Bosnian countrymen) turned out to be a Gülen follower and a putschist, said Ankara Mayor Melih Gökçek. His helicopter was shot down in Ankara. This is not an example of fast thinking: in March 2016, the pro-government newspaper Sabah suggested that the pilot of the F-16 was a Gülen supporter and acted upon his instructions. Whether Gülen had been hostile to Russia for his own reasons or followed CIA orders, he succeeded in causing enmity between Putin and Erdogan. Apparently, the courageous Erdogan’s decision to apologise and make up with Russia had triggered the military coup. There were rumours in Moscow that the Russian Secret Service tipped Erdogan off some minutes before the plotters’ attack thus allowing him to escape to Istanbul. This is perhaps wishful thinking. Russians were not very consistent in the Turkish affair. After SU-24 downing, Putin spoke of being “stabbed in the back”, and Russian state media with its numerous Armenians and Jews went into hysterical overdrive producing gigabytes of hatred-for-Turkey day after day, until ordinary Russians considered Erdogan their personal and vicious enemy. Russian nationalists dreamed the old Russian pipedream of seizing Istanbul, or Constantinople, as it was called five hundred years ago, and restoring it to Christendom, a dream as futile as that of restoring Cordoba to Islam. They forgot their hatred on the spot. Just the grumpy old men in the social networks complained, baying for Turkish blood.  [comment:  got to be kidding, Russia.  I would never reconcile.  Do not holiday there.  Go to China.   ] Israel was among the last of the states to call for constitutional order to prevail in Turkey, and even then, Netanyahu’s very brief message mainly concerned the ongoing normalisation of relations. His friend General Sisi, the military dictator of Egypt, went as far as to block a Security Council resolution condemning the coup. Quite natural, too, as he had come to power by overthrowing the elected president.  However, what worked in Egypt did not work in Turkey. The Turks did not surrender their freedom and their right to decide. Now, after the putsch they are free to proceed with their choice. I was particularly impressed by their sacking of the judges, in their hundreds (755, to be exact). It appears that the Deep State, the subterranean societal structures built by security services and by Gülen’s Hizmet, invested a lot of effort in judges and in the mainstream media, in the two least democratic government powers, not only in Turkey.  [comment:  I don't know what side the judges are on, but it doesn't look really good if the government must purge 755 judges.  It's a dictatorship ... & the bearded head-chopping that took over the streets doesn't impress me as 'democratic'.  It was frightening. ] Turkey’s Lesson This brings the US elections to mind. Perhaps the people of America may take a lesson or two from the Turks, while Mr Donald Trump may take a lesson or two from the Turkish president. The Turks could teach you, my American readers: do not surrender to plotters. The power rightfully belongs to you; do not allow them to usurp the power. The Turkish would-be usurpers were generals who moved their tanks, the American would-be usurpers are more sophisticated; they move banks, politicians, parties, media, justice; but they are usurpers all the same as they reject and subvert democracy. Democracy means letting people decide; but there is a new class that usurps this right to decide. They place themselves above democracy. They are patronising and condescending to ordinary citizen. They speak to and about the people as the Turkish officers to Erdogan voters. They think they know better. They delegitimise another view. Rather, they do not consider the majority view as being legitimate at all. Turkey is far from democratic.  I wasn't impressed with the Islamists that hit the streets in Turkey.  I was terrified. While voting for Trump might be better than voting for the vile Clinton woman, and while those that voted for BREXIT did well, the system remains sh*t and the ruling capitalists win no matter who is elected.

Brief History - Illegal Iraq War 2003

ILLEGAL IRAQ WAR 2003 Jean B Lynch Book:  "France in Focus:  Immigration Policies, Foreign Policy & US Relations" Summary [all info contained is from above book online preview] Jean B Lynch Book:  France in Focus:  Immigration Policies, Foreign Policy & US Relations Info is from above source, but some of my own words in here (rather than direct extracts).   Lynch informs us that in the 1990s French govt began distancing from US policy in Iraq, when US & British capitalist serving governments began using military force on Iraq state (Saddam Hussein govt) to force compliance with 1991 Gulf War settlement. France and other governments sought to lift international sanctions on Iraq, due to the 'deterioration of living conditions' imposed on the Iraqi inhabitants.   Comment:  judging from the above interview of Madeleine Albright in 60 Minutes (an insert / not from book), the US-led economic sanctions were more than a 'deterioration' in conditions:  the sanctions were lethal. Jean B Lynch reports that the Clinton administration and the Bush administration were strongly opposed to lifting of international sanctions. 2002 France eventual backed US goal to reinstate UN weapons inspections and UN Resolution 1441 mandated Iraqi compliance with weapons inspections. By early 2003, the Bush administration was making allegations of Iraq concealing weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in 'material breach' of UN Resolution 1441, Lynch reports, giving the US (and their British capitalist allies) the 'justification' to use military force. Meanwhile, the French government and the Germans argued that Iraq was not in 'material breach' of UN Resolution 1441. French preferred an inspections regime, which they saw as sufficient to 'constrain' the Saddam Hussein government.  But, privately, some French officials were backing the US-Anglo capitalist pretext that Iraq was concealing WMD, Lynch indicates (minus the bit about US-Anglo capitalists). US-French discord re Iraq early 2003.  US admin called for regime change in Iraq, going beyond the UN Resolution 1441. Judging by the Lynch reference to democracy etc:  the US administration used the 'spreading democracy' pretext, which the Americans used in a series of hostile attacks on Middle Eastern states. France and other governments, Lynch indicates, objected to these added regime change objectives, on the basis that 'sustainable reforms' could not be imposed by the west on Iraq and in other states. US admin then had NATO provide Turkey with what it referred to as 'defensive systems' (but, I'm guessing these are really offensive equipment of war) and pulled US Balkan forces, replacing them with NATO member forces, freeing the US forces for conflict with Iraq. The following objected in NAC (North Atlantic Council), which is described by Lynch as NATO's supreme political body: France Germany Belgium on the basis that granting the request (to militarise Turkey?) would: de facto acknowledge Iraq had impeded UN weapons inspections (which was not proven) AND THAT IT WOULD BE PRETEXT FOR WAR according to Lynch. Outcome:  German and Belgian governments relent; France defers the aid to Turkey decision to another NATO body in which France is not a member, which results (late Feb 2003) in a decision to provide 'defensive assistance' (comment:  ie military capabilities) to Turkey, according to Lynch. The consequence was US criticism of France (and several other allies), who deemed (comment:  what is ostensibly) the anti-war France and Germany as the 'old Europe' and the pro-war Europe as 'new' Europe (Sec. of Defence Donald Rumsfeld), according to Lynch. Germany & France refuse to back US admin draft UN resolution authorising military force against Iraq.  France and Russia each hold a veto and threaten to use same if draft resolution submitted, Lynch reports. March 2003, Bush admin (comment:  backed by its British capitalist illegal Iraq war co-conspirators, under Labour PM Tony Blair), decide to go to war in Iraq without passing of the proposed UN resolution.  Opposed to this were:  France, Germany, Turkey (indirectly). The war hawks were:  Britain, Italy, Poland, Spain. April 2003 Iraq was [comment:  illegally] invaded by US and British forces. US, who illegally invaded and pillaged Iraq, sought almost complete forgiveness of Iraq foreign debt.  Two principal governments to whom Iraq was indebted to were:  France and Germany. Germany wrote off 80% of Iraq foreign debt, in excess of the 50% write-off that France had backed, due to Iraq's enormous potential for wealth from petroleum resources (and that other, poorer, nations would have benefited more from debt reduction), Lynch reports. As at the publication of the John B. Lynch book, the following was owed to capitalist Western states by Iraq: - USA, $2 billion - Germany, $2.4 billion - France, $3 billion French refused to take part in the US-led multinational occupation forces in Iraq as France did not approve of the basis on which the US launched war on Iraq from and did not wish to be associated with the occupation of Iraq; however, it France offered to train Iraqi police in France, according to Jean B.
