Married father of two John Jones, QC, who worked at renowned legal chambers, Doughty Street, died on Monday morning. Police say they are not treating the death as suspicious. The 48-year-old QC has been described as “a giant in his field” by his colleagues, who said that his death is “a monumental loss to the cause of international justice and human rights.” He was part of the team of lawyers acting to prevent the extradition of Mr Assange - currently holed up in the Equadorian embassy - whose case is currently being heard by the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention. Mr Jones was also working with his colleague Amal Clooney to try and halt the execution of Colonel Gaddafi’s son and Libyan spy chief Abdullah-al Senussi. John Jones was Julian Assange's lawyer and he's also defended Gaddaffi's son, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, and a bunch of  (I think) Muslim and Croatian former Yugoslavia war crimes accused. There's a few names in the linked article (above), but I don't know the names listed. When I saw this at WikiLeaks, I thought he'd been bumped off by CIA. So it looks like my personal equivalent of 'Blame Putin' is something like:  blame CIA. Some guy posted a gif of Obama doing a gun shot gesture, so blame that old guy on Twitter. Tried to find more info re the death, but there's none.  It bugs me not knowing. UPDATE - above.   24/04/2016
