Managers of the secretive Scotland Yard unit, which is known as the Special Demonstration Squad (SDS), were found to have exaggerated the validity of intelligence obtained by undercover officers, the internal inquiry found. What’s more, the inquiry also suggested the SDS overemphasized the achievements of the unit in order to get public funding. Although the findings were sent to Metropolitan police commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe last year, they were kept secret until now, the Guardian reports. The latest report adds to mounting criticism of the British police after undercover officers infiltrated over 460 political groups spanning over four decades. Many undercover spies were found to have formed long-term relationships with women during operations and officers that gathered intelligence on relatives of the murdered teenager Stephen Laurence and families campaigning for justice, but concealed evidence in court cases. A large percentage of the officers controversially stole the identities of dead children to form their fake identities, without permission from the families of the deceased. Last year, Creedon sent a “restricted” report to Hogan-Howe, outlining an update on the inquiry and was released to the Guardian through a Freedom of Information request. Creedon said there was evidence of SDS managers exaggerating their actions and achievements. “Evidence of SDS managers clearly exaggerating the involvement of SDS officers and the value of their intelligence has been discovered and certainly for the first two decades of the unit there was an annual report to the commissioner [of the Metropolitan Police] and the Home Office to ensure continued funding,” he said. Though Creedon did not provide any examples, he added: “This would not be the only occasion where members of a unit embellished their importance and success in order to secure finance.” A hearing is to be held on Wednesday to determine if police should inform parents of the dead children that their identities were stolen. It appears they compare nationalist loners to Islamists loners, therefore, according to their agenda, it is the nationalist that are responsible for higher numbers of deaths and injuries.    EDIT  What's the bet they're not taking into account cultural factors - eg. Europeans culturally individualistic and aliens networked, in clans, operate in groups etc.  Take a look at their track record in sex attacks:  they seem to attack in multiples, gangs, groups, packs or even en masse (Cologne, Stockholm, various European, Cairo), as a cultural pastime, in a way that is not common for Europeans. Should this guess be correct, it would mean Islamists are simply more group oriented and more groups or networking avenues are open to Islamists than nationalists.  In which chase, they should be comparing the 'lone wolf' nationalists to the network (terrorist) Islamist killings (which far exceed any that could feasibly be attributed to European nationalists).   I would also be taking a very close look at the material they're basing their assertions on, because the bet is that their lone wolf 'nationalists' are no such thing.  I would also wager that when there is an Islamist sympathiser attack, it is played down by the authorities and whenever there is any remote (or even trumped up) nationalist link (eg a magazine subscription from two decades ago), the crooked bastards play that up to serve the agenda:  (a) continue the invasion and genocide of Europeans program and (b) maintain suppression of European nationalism. The US-Anglo Ministry of Truth propaganda NGO won't be telling us how many European women and children and men have been raped by foreigners in those periods of time, nor do they tell us about the costs of invasion, riots, murders, car jackings, shootings, assaults, robberies, drug dealing, the welfare costs, legal costs, the prison costs, and other costs (to name just a few of the costs of the Eurpean invasion).   A DEADLY VIOLENCE THAT HAS BEEN COMMITTED UPON EUROPEANS FOR DECADES, day in and day out, by invaders of European homelands, that have been permitted to destroy Europe and Europeans by capitalist serving political elites. The vote also represents a bi-partisan drift away from policy positions that favouring digital privacy, which had taken hold in the three years since former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden revealed the breadth of government surveillance programs. The post-Snowden moves included the most substantial reforms to the US intelligence community since the terror attacks of September 11 2001, and a refusal to heed the FBI's call for laws that would undermine encryption. Critics say proposed laws 'exploit' the Orlando shooting The legislation before the Senate, filed as an amendment to a criminal justice funding bill, would widen the FBI's authority to use so-called National Security Letters, which do not require a warrant and whose very existence is usually a secret.
